Lillian Hardy
(nee Gambogi), age 82, beloved wife of Dennis Hardy passed away August 31, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Born on February 20, 1939 in Mantua NJ, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Lillian (nee Hilderbrand) Gambogi. Lillian was a graduate of Pitman High School Class of 1957. She lived in Sicklerville NJ for over 35 years before moving to Williamstown NJ.
Lillian worked at Laidlaw Bus Company as a school bus driver for over 35 years. She loved the children and loved her job. She retired in 2009.
Lillian’s favorite times and memories were spent being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time cooking wonderful meals, especially for her family and others, having fun times with her St Charles Borromeo friends and playing games on her Ipad. She especially enjoyed her family’s annual vacation to Ocean City NJ., so much so that as the paramedics were taking her out of her house to the hospital, she said, “how am I going to be able to help get everyone ready for the shore?”
Her greatest joy was watching gameshows, especially Wheel of Fortune. Ironically, her family was watching the show when they were informed that she had passed. It was evident that she was making her presence known at that time. Lillian will forever be known as a person who loved to talk to everyone, a kind, and caring woman who never complained and fought courageously throughout her illness.
She is survived by daughters Susan Tracy, Karen Schaefer (Brian), Colleen Schummer (Michael), and her cherished grandchildren Ryan Schaefer, Morgan Tannoia (Joseph), Kevin Tracy, Max Schummer and Zach Schummer. Dear sister of the late Theresa Herman (John), the late Theodore Gambogi (Helen), William Gambogi (Patricia) and John Gambogi (Bethanne)
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday 8:45 – 10:15am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp, Mass of Chistian Burial 11:00am at St Charles Borromeo RC Church, Washington Twp.
