Keiko Stoeckig, longtime professor at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, died peacefully in hospice on November 10, 2024, after a long illness.
Born in Japan in 1960, she was adopted by a navy couple, Charles and Ethel (Funk) Stoeckig. They later moved to Jacobson, Minnesota. She graduated from Hill City High School in Minnesota in 1978. In 1983, she received her BA degree in Psychology and Philosophy at Bemidji State College in Minnesota. Then, she attended graduate school at Dartmouth in New Hampshire, received at PhD in Experimental Psychology in 1988, and was hired as an assistant professor at Rowan.
She is survived by her step-sister Le Matts of Falcon Heights, MN, step-brother Richard Hutchins (Panit) of Cass Lake, MN, and an older cousin Robert “Butch” Niemi (Marilyn) of Clear Lake, Iowa.
A burial service is being planned for spring at the family plot in Jacobson.
