Kathryn M. Tansky
(nee Doyle) On June 2, 2015, of Clayton. Age 69. Beloved wife of John L., Sr. Devoted mother of Theresa A. Grisi (John), John L., Jr., Kenneth S. (Kimberly) and Jennifer L. George (Eric). Loving grandmother of Stephen, Sarah, John, Allison, Shawn, Jeffrey, Olivia, Frankie. Dear sister of William Doyle, Frances McGee, Christopher Doyle, Robert Doyle and the late Frank Doyle, Helen Gunning and Johanna Hudson.
Kathryn was born on November 13, 1945, at home. She was the seventh of eight children. She was a 1963 graduate of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia.
Kathryn met her husband to be, John, when they were 15 years old. They were married in 1965 at age 19. They were blessed with two sons and two daughters.
Her hobbies included shopping, vacationing in Florida, dancing, going to the beach and decorating. However, she mostly enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family (especially Christmas), cooking for her family or anyone who came to visit.
Her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. She was always ready with candy, a toy, or some money to fill their pockets. Most of all, she loved rocking them when they were babies. She was always most content with a baby laying across her arms.
She loved gospel and doo-wop music. She was probably Elvis Presley’s greatest fan. Most likely, she and her sister Johanna are chasing him around Heaven as we speak!
Most of all, Kathryn’s faith in the Lord defined her. She loved going to church, participating in bible study, and sharing her faith with others. Her family has lost a precious soul, but Heaven has gained an angel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.

I am trying hard to figure out how to write a tribute to my Aunt Kass...
I have known her all of my life...
So I will tell you what I know....I have always loved my Aunts...I'll give some insight to those who have left this world.
I loved my Aunt Betty Doyle because she was a strong Navy spouse.
I loved my Aunt Helen because she was my Godmother and allowed me to be me.
I loved my Aunt Johanna... because I shared part of her name (Joe) and she was (and still is the funniest person I have ever met...
Then there is my Aunt Kass...I love Aunt Kass because she was never about herself...she was always about others... even as she raised a family...she always looked at for others within the family....(myself included)
But I think her legacy (at least for me) may be her unwavering belief in the will of God.
It was her unwavering faith that helped many factions of the Doyle/Tansky/McGee/Murphy/Lacey clans make it through the tough times in life.
They say that as you go through your life... keep watch... there are guardian angels all around you. I know that on this day that I lost a guardian angel...

She welcomed me when I came to Rowan in 2001 and I missed her when she moved to Florida. I pray that her family and her husband will remember the good times they shared. Because she was my mother I have so many memories, but most importantly great ones. She was such a wonderful mother, my best friend, my touchstone. She was the most kind hearted and generous person, she was a mama bear, she would defend her children and grandchildren with all she had. How wonderful for her grandchildren to look back and think of her with such happiness and love. And her love for my father and his love for her, their devotion to each other was something to strive for in our own relationships..I have to add she said my dad was so good to her and especially in the end was her champion. He always said she was her angel. I loved our times together watching shows or at the salon chatting while she was getting pretty. My memories of Kathy started in 1980 when I joined the Tansky family and her family were all small and it didn't matter what she was doing ,she could do more, always happy and if things were down she had a way to make them better, always cooking more then was necessary for the "late ones", or to send something home. My visit last fall is one I won't forget, our girl talks in the sunroom, and even then she was wanting to wait on me but I told her we would be "ladies " and let John wait on us. It feels like only yesterday you were finishing my dinner for me so I could have my popsicle. You are the only person I can remember never being upset or angry with. You always did for others, especially for me and your grandchildren. I could always call you and no matter what the situation, you made it better (even if it meant telling my Mom that you had the final say, ha). I have so many wonderful memories with you that I will cherish. Your relationship with the Lord was inspiring. I'll never forget your call to me telling me not to worry about having a baby. You were reading your Bible that day and a passage spoke to you. A month later, I was carrying your first great - grandchild. I am devastated that he will never know your touch or back rubs here on earth but I promise to tell him all about you and just how wonderful you are. I am heartbroken over losing you but there is peace knowing you are in Heaven. I will miss you more than words (especially the smell of your perfume.. we all know that story). I can't wait to hug you again. I love you always.
