Catherine (nee Knappick) Deily, age 89, died with her daughter by her side, on July 13, 2018 after a long illness.
Beloved wife of the late Richard B. Deily for 57 years. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Deily Rosser and her husband David J. Rosser and predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Kammer. Loving grandmother of Christopher (Ashley) and Juliane Rosser also Shawn(Jasmine) and Brett (Melanie) Kammer. Devoted “GG” to Allyson, Gavin, Carter Rosser and Ryker Ryan. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Born March 21st, 1929 to Charles and Catherine Knappick in Philadelphia Pa. Catherine belonged to a family of 3 including Milton and Betty. Catherine, “Kathy” graduated from Frankford High school and began her career as a secretary where she met her husband. Richard,”Dick”, who would end his letters, “P.S. I love you.”
After their wedding in Philadelphia, they started a family of 2 girls, Kathy and Jeanne. They bought a summer house in Timber Lakes, and loved the lake life so much Dick built them a larger house and moved in permanently. Kathy’s retired parents became a happy addition to their world at the lake.
Kathy, a homemaker, was very involved with the girl’s school life and taught cooking at the 4 H. She also loved to play the piano. Kathy’s greatest achievement was her caring and dedication to her family. After caring for her bedridden mother for years, she took on every parent’s nightmare. Her beloved daughter Kathy had cancer. Assisting with childcare, cleaning, doctors’ visits, Kathy did it all. The Lord heard her prayers, her daughter was in remission. She picked up caring for her father and then cancer struck her daughter again and the Lord received an angel. For the remainder of her life, she stayed very involved in her grandchildren’s lives. Soon, age was creeping up on them and they decided to move in with their daughter and husband, Jeanne and Dave, finally giving up her caretaker duties.
Kathy was always devoted to her religion and prayed the rosary daily. One of her favorite possessions was a rosary brought back from the Vatican blessed by the pope. She was always a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend her entire life. The world is now a lesser place with her not in it.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday 9:30-11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 am. Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.
