Juanita J. Patterson (nee Doran), on March 14, 2018, of Washington Twp. Age 84. Beloved wife of the late Francis A. for over 48 years. Devoted mother of the late Karen Taylor (Mike), Kathleen Moscufo (Michael), Michael (Betty), Deborah Murray (Joe), Patricia Gallo (Pat), and the late Jennifer Patterson. Loving grandmother of Stacey, Kimberly, Joe, Katie, Ryan, John, Michael, Kelly, Matthew, Patrick, Lauren, Drew, Amy, P.J., Eric, Emily, and Nicholas. Proud great-grandmother of 10. Dear sister of Charmaine Core, Marjorie Sewasky, Douglas Doran, Kathleen Morabeto, Virginia Myers, Donna Schultz, and the late Gerald, Richard, and James. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
As the grandchildren gathered to remember their Grandmom, many fond memories were shared. She loved to go to all her grandchildren’s events and games, always bragged about them, enjoyed coloring and playing cards with them, sent them personalized birthday cards, celebrated at the family Christmas parties and the Ohio family reunions. They couldn’t think of their Grandmom without mentioning her love of everything sweet such as chocolate, black and white milk shakes, cherry danish, toasted coconut donuts, chocolate turtles, ice cream, German chocolate cake and root beer floats. When not eating her sweets, she enjoyed Starbucks, green apple martinis, shots of Jaeger, bacon cheeseburgers, croissants with preserves, rolls of any kind and sweet Riesling wine. When the kids went to Grandmom’s house, they could always count on green leaves in the candy jar, milk in the freezer and a big hug and kiss.
Juanita passed the time by going to Every Woman’s Book Club, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, reading the Inquirer and doing the crossword puzzle and word search, gardening, listening to Johnny Mathis and Josh Groban, and spending her Target gift cards. Juanita will always be remembered for her love of babies, bunnies, cardinals, roses, blue dishes and her refrigerator covered with pictures.
