Joyce Meister (nee Debalski), Suddenly on December 3, 2014, of Berlin, formerly of Long Beach Island. Age 69. Joyce will be missed by her loving husband Joe of 50 years and her two sons Dan, Darren, and daughter in laws Sue and Norma. Her life was devoted to her family and especially her 3 grandchildren Jenna, Darren, and Lauren. She always brought a smile to her friends and everyone she met, and always offered a shoulder to lean on. She touched many people’s lives and will be sorely missed. She enjoyed decorating, the holidays, rock music, and was the queen of Bling.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday 8:15 – 10:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Family, Washington Twp. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Amercian Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com

Although we we're 4 houses away from Joe and Joyce in Long Beach Island, we never knew them that well, until Storm Sandy hit and we got to know each other very well. Then we put our houses up for sale at just about the same time, and we really got to know each other.What wonderful people Joyce and Joe were.Joyce was a doll. When both and Joyce and I worked at Ocean Acres.... my preschool disabled students would "earn" visiting her in the afternoon. Those babies loved her so much. They would lunge at her to hug her tightly. And Joyce adored them. Joyce was so kind and giving; a special soul. She kept goodies and prizes in her desk drawer, and the children knew where :) Joyce was so gifted in interacting with these precious little ones, too; patience is an understatement. Her love for them overflowed. Whenever we had a cooking lesson in class they would ask if "we can share with "Miss Joyce." They always turned and looked over their shoulders to see her, and wave to her, in the office when we were walking past the office on the way to Specials. Joyce always waved back. Words can not express the comforting, understanding, kind, and angelic qualities she had in life. What a beautiful person. What a profound loss for our world. When I started as a teacher at Osage Elementary School, Joyce was one of the ten volunteer Title I aides who worked with the children. Her zest for life was contagious. We had many fun times and laughed ourselves silly in that Title I room. Then Joyce became one of the secretaries in our front office. She brought her enthusiastic, fun-loving presence into that position. The office was always a fun place to be with Joyce there!
