Josephine V. Lake (nee Martino) of Washington Township, passed away on June 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Age 84. Beloved wife of the late Melvin. Devoted mother of Linda Lake (Steven Scherfel), Michael Lake (Robin Persons) and Lisa Lake (Bob Nocentino, Jr.). Loving grandmother of Melanie Lomanno, Matthew Lake, Christopher Lake, Alyssa Maiorana and S. Joey Maiorana. Proud great-grandmother of Gianna Lomanno, Logan Hofer and Scarlett Lake. Josephine is also survived by cherished nieces, nephews and her special friend Rosemary Jurgatis.
Josephine was born at home in 1938 to Aniello and Carmella Martino. She was the youngest of 13 children. She is now reunited with both her parents and all of her siblings. She graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1955 and shortly thereafter met Melvin Lake of whom she married in 1958. They had 3 children, Linda, Michael and Lisa. They moved from Woodbridge to Washington Township in 1969. This was the town that Josephine loved. Josephine was proud to live in Washington Township. She enjoyed shopping in all the local stores and malls, dining at the restaurants and most of all the 4th of July parade and fireworks. Josephine also enjoyed decorating and redecorating her home for every holiday.
Josephine worked as title clerk for Martin Dealerships in Turnersville for many years. She retired to take care of her grandchildren. Josephine loved her family and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the Charlie’s Angels Social Club.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday 9:30 AM – 10:30 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am, St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
