Joseph T. Dinan

October 15, 1932 - December 31, 2012

Joseph T. Dinan, Sr. of Willamstown/Philadelphia passed away on December 31, 2012 at age 80, after a long bout with cancer. He was the son of Helen Ervin and John Dinan, the beloved husband of Emma E. Wehrmann Dinan, the proud father of Joseph, Jr. (Lotus), John (Anna), and Jayne Marie LeFavi (Salvatore); the loving grandfather to Christopher, John, Jr., Brian, Michael, Emma, Megan and Ashlyn; great-grandfather of Daniel as well as many nieces and nephews. He is survived by sisters Peggy Wickline, Mary Kirsch and Dorothy Brown; brothers Jerry and Richard. He is now joined with sister Helen Silva, and brothers John and James. Proud brother-in-law to Connie (Garnet), Robert (Joan), Evelyn (Joe) and Linda (Bill). Joe retired from Wawa Dairies after 35 years. He was a volunteer at Kennedy Hospital, Oak Hill Hospital; Park Ranger at Homossasa State Park and a member of the Lions Club.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Egizi Funeral Home, Washington Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joe’s name to Kennedy Cancer Center, c/o Hope and Healing Room, 900 Medical Center Drive, Sewell, NJ 08080. The family will be planting a real tree of life in March.

Words cannot even begin to express how great of a man Joe was. I called him dad and had the honor of knowing him for well over 20 years. He always treated me like a daughter and I always thought of him as a second father. I miss him terribly and I while I am saddened that he is no longer with us, I am glad that he is no longer in pain. I love and will miss you "Dad" and my love and prayers are with the rest of the family.

We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. John and I have had the pleasure of knowing him for over 35 years. To say Joe was a friend, he was that, but more than that he was family! Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Rest in peace Uncle Joe. The world lost a wonderful man with a great big heart of gold. We have all gained an angel that will keep an eye on us until we join him again someday.

Uncle Joe, It's hard to believe you are gone. You will never be forgotten. Thanks for going with me and my father to buy a car that one time. You were the guy to take with us. We had a good night expexting to look but wound up buying and getting a great deal. Love you so much.

I love you daddy. You have taught me so much. You were strong up until the end. I can't even grasp you are really gone from this life but, I know in my heart that I will see you again in the next. You were the best grandfather and my kids adored you. I thank God for giving you that last year of your life. After Thanksgiving 2011, we all said goodbye. You amazed us by giving us another 13 months. I am so sorry that the last month was painful for you both physically and emotionally. No one likes to be told they can't do something or that there is nothing we can do for you. You kept your dignity and gained respect from EVERYONE who knew you as the wonderful man you were. xoxo You will ALWAYS remain in my heart! Thank you for giving me an amazing life. <3

Dad, You taught me the meaning of "Family is everything and will always be there for you" You were always there for me and MY family. I"m glad we were able to be there for you when you needed us the most. I will always remember going to work with you on the milk truck, the paper route, and especially the vet for Eagles games. I've modeled my work ethic, my family life, and my compassion for others after you and hope to one day say i'm as good a man as my father was. I miss you, I love you, and I promise you I will allways be there for mom and Jayne. Rest in peace and may God grant you eternal happiness, you deserve it. With all my love, John

my grandfather was a very proud man...he never wanted anyone to help him cus he didnt want to feel like a burden to them. he always got up everyday and went to work hard for his family to provide for them. i got to spend the last six days of his life with him to help him because he has given me and my whole family so much and it was only right to give back to him. i will never forget those six days because i know he appreciated it and so did my grandmother. i love you grandpop and im going to miss you so much but you are in a better place now and you are at peace.

My deepest sympathy in your time of loss. Although I didn't know Mr Dinan, I did get to know his daughter Jayne and her best friend Mary Jo. I sending healing prayers to help you through this rough time. May God Bless you with comfort and peace.

I will miss your big smile and even bigger heart. You always made everyone feel welcomed and loved. Although I am so sad you are gone, I am glad you are no longer suffering. I am happy I got to talk to you and tell you I love you. We have an Angel in heaven watching over us and his gives me great comfort. Rest in peace Uncle Joe I will miss you forever.

He always had a smile, a warm bear hug, and a good story to tell. He's in heaven now looking down on us, telling us to stop worrying about him because he's good now. Enjoying his visit with family and others he hasn't seen, while waiting for us to join him when its time. We love you Uncle Joe and we'll miss you but we will see you again.
