Joseph P. Brennan
On June 24, 2025, of Washington Twp, formerly of Philadelphia. Age 81. Beloved husband of Marilyn J. (nee Colfer). Devoted father of Sean Brennan (Fran), and Marilyn Cannon (Joe). Loving grandfather of Abby. Dear brother of Thomas Brennan, Raymond Brennan, Maryanne Coleman, Rose Marie Zachwieja, Donna Russell, Sean Brennan and the late Dennis Brennan.
Joe was a dedicated Philadelphia police officer for over 33 years. Over those 33 years, he was promoted to sergeant and received numerous honorable service awards. He understood the value of discipline, hard work and doing things the right way.
After retirement he continued with his unwavering discipline by going to the gym at 6am 3 days a week. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life – tending to his garden, crafting model trains, listening to his favorite music and spending time with his family. Ever vigilant and caring, Joe remained a watchful guardian to all, never losing the sharp instincts and deep sense of duty that defined his years on the force. We will miss him deeply.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Monday 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm.
In honor of Joseph’s life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, his family would encourage donations to the Fraternal Order of Police, 11630 Caroline Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.
