Joseph J. “Joe Bags”

On August 30, 2011 of Washington Twp., NJ Formerly of Philadelphia. Age 94. Beloved husband of 66 years to the late Rita nee Campiglia. Loving father of Marie Louise Cella Robert and Janet Mendez Richard. Devoted Grandfather of 4 and Great-grandfather of 8. Dear brother of Louis.

Joe lived most of his life in South Philly. He was a grocery store owner and later managed Monza Meat-A-Roma. Earlier in life he served honerably as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army in WWII, serving in Berma, China and India. Joe was also a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus.

In his later years he moved to Turnersville and was active memeber of the Washington Twp. Senior Center.
He enjoyed summers at Wilwood playing cards, visiting the casinos and spening time with family and friends.

The last two years he was a resident at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, where he spent his time with former service men and women. Joe enjoyed the entertainment and loved being pampered by the staff who loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday 8:30-10:30am at Egizi Funeral Home 119 Ganttown Rd. Washington Twp., NJ. Mass of Christian Burial 11am SS Peter & Paul Church, Washington Twp. Interment Gloucester County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, 524 N.W. Blvd. Vineland, NJ 08360
