Joseph J. Conte, Sr., on May 3, 2016, of Washington Twp. Age 78. Beloved husband of Catherine M. (nee Fiorello). Devoted father of Linda Virelli and Joseph Conte, Jr. Loving grandfather of Justin, Gabrielle, Lauren, Madison, Gianna and the late Amber. Dear brother of Thomas Conte, Eileen DiVigenze and Geraldine Troini.
As a young kid, Joe enjoyed going to the boy’s club. He loved to follow all of the Philadelphia sports teams and in his later years continued to watch the sports on television. Joe entered the Air Force and was a strong advocate for all military personnel. Joe enjoyed vacationing around the world and supporting all his grandchildren at school/sporting events. Joe was always the cook of the house and made the best onion soup. He was a jokester at heart and always put everyone before himself. The one thing Joe was known for was never saying no. He helped out whoever, whenever no matter the circumstances. In his older years, Joe enjoyed spending nights with his friends playing poker/cards. In memory of Joe, he would have liked to be remembered as the happy go lucky guy that everyone loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 9:00 – 10:45 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to St. John of God, 1145 Delsea Drive, Westville, NJ 08093.
