Joseph F. Ward, on June 15, 2023, of Deptford Township. Age 88. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Murphy) of 52 years. Devoted father of Joseph Ward (Shawna) and the late James Ward. Loving grandfather of Emily Ward, Tyler Ward, and Nikole Risley. Dear brother of Patricia Ridgway (the late Harry), Thomas Ward (Barbara), James Ward (Monica), and the late Marie Bruner (John).

Born in Philadelphia, PA Joe was raised in Philadelphia and Camden, NJ.  He most currently resided in Deptford Township, NJ.  Joe served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Occupation of World War II.  Joe’s career started at U.S. Steel where he worked for 10 years as a wielder. He then worked for various Shop N Bag grocery stores acting as frozen food or dairy manager for over 30 years.  He was an active member in Holy Family Catholic Church in Turnersville, NJ.

Joe enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling to the shore for a good meal. It was common for him to get up in the morning, announce he was in the mood for crab, and then head to The Crab Trap, his favorite restaurant. He was an avid cook who enjoyed German recipes, especially Fleisch Rouladen.  But nothing brought him more joy than being with his sons, Jimmy and Joseph and his beloved grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, June 22^nd, 9:30 – 10:30 AM at The Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080. Mass of Christian Burial 10:45 AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
