Tom Avery left a message on June 9, 2024:
Dear Paulette & family: We are so very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. He and all of you are in our prayers now. While we didn’t spend a lot of time together, those few times were time well spent for me. Whether it was on the basketball court at St Charles many years ago, or more recently, the occasional K Of C golf outings, he was certainly one I would sincerely call a true friend and brother in Christ. I will think of him at every 9:00 mass at SCB. Tom & Jayne Avery

My deepest sympathy to the Dugandzic Family. I also worked at NJ American Water Company with Joe when called upon. A very hard working gentlemen and a good family man. Such a beautiful tribute from a loving family. May Joe rest in peace and God be with you all.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Marie Maks left a message on June 4, 2024:
I first met Joe via Paulette, my sister, at UD where they worked in the dining hall for work study. So did I! They both loved the work and had stories to tell about the students, particularly the football players. We have wonderful family memories of Dugandzic and Maks birthday parties in our NJ, PA, and DE homes for all 9 children for several years; it was basically a bday a month. Joe was a great guy and loved his family. His grandchildren wanted to be with him, as much as they could. We will miss Joe but his tradition for love and family will live on forever. Hope to see Joe and our family in heaven. Live the commandments and love God.
Deacon Larry Farmer left a message on June 3, 2024:
Joe D. Your skills and work effort made our Parish of St. Charles a safe and beautiful place to worship the Lord. Your example of being a faith filled man made our community stronger in our call to discipleship. Thank you Joe…and pray for us!

Ray Nocella left a message on June 2, 2024:
We lost a good man this week. One who made our country road a better place. Joe was the smiling neighbor who was always there, ready to lend a hand, roll out his massive log splitter or help move something heavy. Joe told me last week that he had a great run, and he did! His family was his world and Joe's passing is felt in ours as well. I'll always think of you when the stoves are hot and the scent of burning oak is in the air. We'll miss you, Joe.

My golfing partner and true friend. No words will express the loss, but many words will express the great times, fun and listening to Joe talk about the love of his life ... his wife, kids and grandkids. You left a great legacy. Prayers to all.
Barbara Dugandzic left a message on June 1, 2024:
Prayer: Attributed to Fr. Bede Jarrett, O.P. We seem to give them back to You, O God, who gave them first to us. Yet as You did not lose them in giving, so do we not lose them by their return. Not as the world gives, do you give, O Lover of souls. What You give, You take not away, for what is Yours is ours also if we are Yours. And life is eternal and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon, and a horizon is nothing, save the limit of our sight. Lift us up, strong Son of God, that we may see further; cleanse our eyes that we may see more clearly; draw us closer to Yourself that we may know ourselves to be nearer to our loved ones who are with You. And while You prepare a place for us, prepare us also for that happy place, that where You are we may be also for evermore. RIP dear cousin, Joe. I will miss you

Unfortunately, I can not attend the services for my sweet cousin Joe. The picture attached is from one of many Dugandzic Croatian Lambroasts. Joe would be sporting some kind of funny hat and sporty shirt while cutting the lamb with the others. Joe had a way of putting smiles on everyone's faces easily. My fondest memory goes far back to when I was a child. Joe taught me( in only 200 tries!) to perform a back dive off the diving board of my family's swimming pool. He never gave up on me! I'll always remember him with a gentle heart, and infectious smile and a larger than life personality. He certainly made this world a better place by being in it. He will be solely missed. RIP my dear cousin, Joe. My thoughts and prayers go out to Paulette, Heather, Aaron,Andrew ,Adrienne and Meredith~ and all of the grandchildren.
