He also was grandfather to eight grandchildren Ashley, Alexis, Scotty, Ariel, Arabella, Sarah, Ryan and Abigail. He is also survived by two brothers, Frank and Ed, and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by loving daughter in-law Angel Watson.
John was one of six children growing up in Lafayette Hills, PA. When he was nineteen he decided to list with the Air Force, however, the Air Force recruiter was out to lunch and before the Air Force recruiter had returned, John was in the Navy. He made a career of the Navy serving as a Crypto Logic Technician. He always said that if he described his job to you, he would have to kill you, After separating from the Navy, and having always loved the shore, he decided to settle in Cape May County New Jersey.
In New Jersey, John took a job with the United States Post Office as a Letter Carrier. When John met his wife Terry she was living in Philadelphia, PA. As smitten as he was, this made her geographically undesirable until he found out that she had a place at the shore. After two years of them commuting back and forth, John did the unthinkable and moved to Philadelphia. He transferred to the Willingboro, NJ post office where he stayed until he retired. Terry and John were married on March 30, 1996 and would have been celebrating their 26th anniversary.
When John retired he planned on staying at the shore and fish as much as possible. He never did much fishing, but did spend a lot of time at the shore. He loved spending time with family going to the beach, having barbeques, enjoying outdoor evening concerts, and just enjoying the salty ocean air. He will be missed dearly.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Thursday, April 7th, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM.
