John H. Hennessy, on August 20, 2012, of Washington Twp. Age 91. Beloved husband of the late Rita V. nee Kanaly. Devoted father of E. Dianne, and Michael T. Hennessy. Dear brother of Helen Doe.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 9:00 – 10:45 am at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am. Interment private. Arrangements are under the care of the EGIZI FUNERAL HOME, Washington Twp.

He was “Jack” to everyone who knew him, generous to all, slow to anger, devoted to his wife and family. Jack retired from the Navy a Lieutenant Commander after 20 years of service and later ran the operating room at Temple Hospital.

Mr.Hennessy was always a favorite of the Young family, he was a remarkable person. He and Rita were great friends of my parents which is what I will always remember. My sincere condolences to Mike & Diane and their families. You are in my prayers and thoughts. Harry

Diane and Mike, I did not know what it meant to be one of Jack and Rita's children, but I do know what it meant to be a neighbor. Your dad was the epitome of what it means to be a "good neighbor". I will always remember your dad and mom with affection, respect and love. They were the type of neighbors/friends that everyone should aspire to be. I know that my parents thought of them as dear friends. I am sad for your loss, but I have no doubt that your dad is content to, one again, be with his beloved Rita.

Mike: Sorry for the loss of your father. I had spoken with him many times throughout the years at my part-time job at Acme. I never realized he was your father. Your father was a gracious customer and always a pleasure to speak to.

WE HAVE KNOWN JACK FOR 40 YEARS, HE WAS A DEVOTED HUSBAND, A LOVING FATHER,AND A WONDERFULL FRIEND, HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL OF HIS MANY FRIENDS

Not enough space here to describe Jack, if you knew him you understand. He was a true and loving friend to all of you. NEVER without a smile, Jack always made time to stop and chat and tell one of his famous "stories". He befriended every dog on the block and they often went to his door for a pat on the head and a few loving words. Rest in peace Jack, forever with your Rita in heaven. You are already sadly missed!
