John F. Gill
On January 31, 2023 of Glassboro. Age 98. Beloved husband of the late Nancy (nee Lavender). Devoted father of Stephen Gill (Joan), Elizabeth Rossi (Robert), David Gill (Rosalyn), and Andrew Gill (Laura). Loving grandfather of Regina, Alicia, David, Thomas, Katie, Molly, West, Samuel, Quinnan, and Riley. Proud great-grandfather of Sophia, Sadie, Charlotte, Olivia, Emily, and Elliana. Dear brother of James Gill (Ester).
John F. Gill was a very hard-working, knowledgeable, and wise man of strong character. He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II and enjoyed sharing memories about his service to this country. After raising his children and retiring from his career as a Mechanical Engineer, John enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including machining and wood-working in his extensive workshop, reading (you could always find him with a pile of books next to his rocking chair!), and gardening. Nothing tasted as good as a Satsuma orange picked right from the tree in his yard when he lived in Florida! However, above all, John enjoyed spending time with his family. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his whole world! He enjoyed nothing more than to have his family all together, share his philosophies on life, and recall stories of his ancestors. John’s legacy will certainly live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever!
John’s life will be honored and remembered privately by his family.
