John A. Gentile, suddenly on July 16, 2013, of Washington Township. Age 52. Beloved husband of Dana M. (nee Costello). Devoted father of Gian and Isabella. Loving son of the late Michael and Mary (nee Persia). Dear son-in-law of Walt and Joan Costello. Brother-in-law of Joan DeLaurentis (Vince) and Cara Costello. Proud uncle of Vincent and Ariana. Also survived by his loving aunts and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 8:30 – 10:30 am at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John A. Gentile Children’s College Education Fund, c/o TD Bank, 5200 Route 42, Suite 14, Turnersville, NJ 08012. I worked with John briefly at Silo but continued a valued relationship with him at Pep Boys.. John was a good friend, a trusted peer, a respected teammate and a part of our days at Pep Boys. Dana and family, my deepest condolences. I met John in 1989 while working at Silo. He's been my friend ever since. I already miss him, and our fantasy sports leagues will never be the same with out him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

John came into our lives 6 years ago when my son started track. John and Dean hit it off quickly. He really gained Deans trust. For the first time I saw my son really enjoy a sport.That bond will remain with him forever.John, Dana and the kids quickly became apart of our family.He was an excellent coach and a devoted father and husband. I can not find the words to ever express how much he will be missed on and off the field. He was a big part of our everyday life.Dana.. our hearts go out to you and your family. As a Pep Boys co-worker, I second the thoughts and prayers of Bill and Lisa. We will miss John tremendously.

To John's wife and children, there are no words to offer to you that will ease the pain of the loss of your John. I worked with John at Pepboys and I remember with a smile we did not hit it off at first...must have been the Italian in us. But we ended up good working friends, John becoming someone I could depend and count on during my brief time with Pepboys. He had a quiet confidence and deep passion in every endeavor he embarked on. We had some great conversations and I am grateful we crossed paths. Dana, what I remember most is how much he loved sharing how much he loved you. What I will always remember about John is his love of Christmas. He always with out fail gave out Christmas cards at work every year. He was also a very passionate, loyal, dedicated and honest person. If he believed in something, he would champion it as far as possible. He will be missed dearly.

I have known John for over 10 years working at Pep Boys,We would pass in the halls and there was always a hello from John every time. I worked very close to his team at Pep Boys so I interacted with John daily and he was a great guy.He will be missed and I always knew st Christmas time that I would have a card at my desk.I offer my sincere condolences to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Gentile family. I had the honor of working with John for 17 years at Pep Boys. Additionally, I enjoyed many seasons of playing Fantasy Football with John. John was a great guy and I will miss him very much.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with John through the Washington Township youth track program. His level of commitment and care for the children was exemplary. He made track fun for my daughter, which in turn always made her try her best. I also admired the way he had such pride and joy for his own children, Gian and Isabella. I've known John for 15 years and worked for him for 11 years. He was always fair and he had a great sense of humor! He was a great guy and I will miss him dearly. After working together for 18+ years, I have so many memories of John; he was a good friend. We talked daily about things like sports and his coaching, but most of all about his family.
