Joan C. McDonald

On September 16, 2020. Age 90.  Predeceased by her loving husband, James J. McDonald.  Beloved mother of Eileen (Joseph) Midili, Moira (Gerald) Berg, Sheila (Louis) Bosurgi, James (Karen) McDonald, William (Toni) McDonald and the late John C. McDonald.   Proud grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of five.

Joan was the daughter of James and Laura (Mills) McDonough, of Schenectady NY.  She has one beloved brother John (Jack) McDonough and brother-in-law Anthony McDonald.  Predeceased by sisters-in-law Dorothy McDonough and Patricia McDonald, as well as Rev. John McDonald, Edna (James) Foley, Geraldine (Leonard) Smith.

Joan graduated from St. Rose High School, Schenectady NY.  She worked in the treasurer’s office in Winslow Township NJ until 1979.   When they returned to East Berne NY, she worked in the treasurer’s office for the city of Albany NY until retiring in 1988.  Joan and Jim lived in NY, PA, NJ, FL, NC and GA, returning to NJ in 2011.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Thursday, September 24, at 11am at the Church of the Holy Family 226 Hurffville Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.  Interment will be private at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Schenectady NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Church of the Holy Family at the address above.
