Joan Campisi (nee Ciallella) on September 22, 2018, of Washington Twp. Age 87. Beloved wife of Joseph. Devoted mother of Cheryl Campisi, and Cynthia Choate-Campisi. Loving grandmother of Christopher (Ashley) and Stephen (Andrea). Loving sister of Anthony Ciallella (Linda). Dear sister-in-law of Ann Campisi.
Joan was born on July 29, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pa to her parents, Jean and Jeff Ciallella. After graduating Joan worked in retail until 1955 when she married Joseph Campisi and together they enjoyed a happy and loving 62-year marriage.
Joan raised two daughters and was involved in school activities as well as being president of the PTA at the Philadelphia schools her children attended. She worked for 27 years as a bookkeeper for several center city businesses. When the family moved to New Jersey in 1971 she continued to work in Philadelphia while also being involved in many social activities in her new neighborhood. For two decades she belonged to the Friday Night Bowling League at St. Monica’s parish. Her hobbies included bridge, poker, crocheting and casinos.
Perhaps the greatest joy in her life were her two grandsons Christopher and Stephen. She was involved in their lives from birth and benefited from everything they did including never missing a little league game or school activities they participated in.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday 9:30-10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Township. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, Washington Township. Interment Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.
