Jeffrey P. Malone
On July 1, 2018 of Washington Twp. Age 58. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee VanAudekerk). Devoted father of William (Kait), Patrick and Erin. Dear brother of Paula Newman (Thomas). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Thomas S. Manson once said, “It is in doing, not just dreaming, that lives are blessed…”.
As a successful college graduate of Colgate University, a valued member of the Washington Township, New Jersey community, and an ambassador of the Change Our World (COW) Project, Jeff Malone’s service-oriented legacy blessed many lives.
His journey began at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York where he earned a Bachelors degree in Business. It was at school that Jeff’s passion for serving others first blossomed. Jeff, a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, created valuable friendships that lasted well beyond his college years. Through his encouragement, inspiration, and loyalty to his peers these relationships grew and prospered. Likewise, his pursuit of business inspired him to find ways to connect with people, while assisting them with investments that would better their businesses.
When Jeff was not working, he enjoyed watching his three successful children participate in their athletic endeavors. At these events, he could be seen and heard encouraging them by all attendees. Likewise, Jeff enjoyed relaxing with friends at the beach or at the summer community club. Friends remember Jeff Malone as an infectious and joyful personality that was impossible to ignore. During these times of fellowship with friends and family members, Jeff made it a priority to turn life’s various joyful and tumultuous moments into comical relief.
Although he was always good for wise advice and hysterical jokes, Jeff’s proudest and most fulfilling moments came when he served as Santa Claus and a COW Project ambassador. As Santa Claus, Jeff blessed many lives, including students, teachers, and community members alike. This time of year was always special to him because he could give to others and create lasting memories that changed many lives. Likewise, Jeff was involved in the Change our World (COW) Project in town, where he was one of the tomato cutters for the hoagie sales on Super Bowl Sunday. With friends, he would voluntarily gather and cut hundreds of tomatoes for the students who make and sell hoagies all over town. The profit from these hoagie sales would allow for the community to give back to various opportunities and organizations. It is in Jeff’s honor that all donations are to be presented to the COW Project to continue Jeff’s desire to keep service above self.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Friday 10:30 am at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Washington Twp. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s memory may be made to the COW Project “Changing Our World” c/o Washington Twp. High School, 83 Bryant Road, Turnersville, NJ 08012.
