Dr. Joseph Myers left a message on June 22, 2018:
When I moved next door to Jim and Mary in 1997 I could never have known what an impact they would make on my life. Jim is one of the most unique people I have ever known. He was crass and crude, polite, intelligent and complicated. At that time a wish that he stated over and over was to live long enough to see his granddaughter graduate from high school. He did, and more. The stories he told of old Philadelphia, of life with Mary and all his experiences are priceless. For the last 10 years I have carried in my wallet a poem he gave to me that he composed for Mary, that pretty much sums him up: Once I had a heart so true That now is gone from me to you. So please take care of it as I have done For you have two and I have none. You had a great heart, Jimmy. Thanks for being a great friend.
