James P. Doonan, of Cape May, on March 29, 2017. Beloved son beloved of Harry Doonan and the late Evelyn Doonan (nee Plank). Loving brother of Eileen McTague (Daniel, Jr.) and Steven Doonan (Lynne). Dear Uncle of Kelsey and Sean.

Jim was a graduate of Collingdale High School class of 1977. Jim served in the US Navy and worked for Acme Markets. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and a collector of baseball and sports memorabilia. He loved animals, the seashore and seafaring history. He was good working with children and teaching them how to do things for themselves. He loved cooking and food preparation.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday 10:00 – 11:00 am. Funeral Service 11:00 am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Cape Assist, 3819 New Jersey Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or at www.capeassist.org

This is his granddaughter Erica , I was extremely close with him and wish anybody would have made some kind of effort to contact his family that was married in . Just because we weren't blood doesn't make us any less of family . It would have meant a lot to have been able to attend his funeral . And I would highly appreciate it if someone contacted me immediately to inform me of location and anything else I should know . I miss you and love you so much pop , I should have done more to help you and been there for you no matter what. I will never forget you or anything that you taught me growing up , you were one of the biggest role models​ and made possibly the most impact in my life . You proved to me what true family really meant and I'll never forget that or anything about you . Fly high and rest easy pop , you can be at peace now .
