James J. Kennedy, Sr.
On September 9, 2020. Born July 18, 1935 and raised in the Fairmont section of Philadelphia, PA. to Edward Kennedy and Helen Halpin.
Age 85. Beloved husband of the late Sue (nee Galvani). Devoted father of Kathleen Citrone (Jeffrey), Edward Kennedy (Deborah), James Kennedy, Jr. (Desiree) and Michael D’adamo. Loving grandfather of Gail, Christa, Ryan, Connor, Madison, Jade, Hailie and Juliana. Proud great-grandfather of Gabriella, Arielle and Lucien. Dear brother of Margaret “Peggy” Kennedy.
Known to so many as (Pat). Pat was affectionately given to him by his Uncle, who would say, (Come here Patty-me-boy). He loved his family and never shy’d away from being in pictures. He loved Villanova basketball and all Philly sports. He enjoyed horse racing and you could always count on him to bet on the underdog. A lifelong political follower who could debate with the best of them on the Hill.
Most comfortable at home in his recliner watching Philly sports, politics and Turner Classic Movies. He was always indulging his sweet tooth with 3 Musketeers, Milky Ways and Tootsie Rolls. Then he would hide the wrappers. They were often found inside the recliner. He liked to dance the Irish jig and joke with the grandkids.
A true gentlemen with a good moral compass who we were all proud to call Dad, Pop Pop, Brother, Uncle & friend.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
