James E. Evans, on September 2, 2014, of Washington Twp. Age 55. Beloved husband of Denise A. (nee Tobia). Devoted father of Kelly Ross (Michael) and Thomas Evans. Loving Poppy of Aubree. Loving son of Angelina and the late Lawrence Hagner. Dear brother of Donna Evans, Barbara Lambertino and the late Steven Evans.

Jim was a one of a kind person-a big, tough guy. But those who knew him well saw the fun-loving, caring side of him. He was a great dad, and always enjoyed being surrounded by the kids and their friends. But if they ever made the mistake of calling him Mr. Evans, they were done! He was Big Jim or get out of the house!

Jim and Denise were married 31 years, and it was obvious how they felt about each other. If you were in his presence more than a few times, he’d tell you he wouldn’t have made it this far without Denny.

Jim was a great storyteller. He exaggerated ridiculously for effect, but would swear it was all the truth. ” I can’t make this stuff up!”, was the classic line.

Recently, he became a grandfather, and Aubree was the light of his life. He made up a song, and sang it to her constantly. His favorite time of the day with her was the morning, sitting on his swing. “I made this swing for mom mom, but now she will have to share it with you.”

Jim won the hearts of many people, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He has been reunited with his brother Stevie, and finding peace now in his heart. Pray that they watch over us all in the years to come.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Saturday 10:15 am – 12:00 pm at SS. Peter & Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm. Interment private.
