James Bailey Wharton, Jr., on June 24, 2020, of Mullica Hill. Age 56. Devoted father of Natalie Wharton, Kathryn Wharton, and James Bailey Wharton, III. Beloved son of the late James Bailey Wharton Sr. and Mary J. Wharton (nee Garton). Dear brother of Kimberly Bartosh (Andrew) and John Wharton (the late Nancy). Loving uncle of Casandra, Stephanie, Andrew, Jr., and their families.
A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art, Jim’s artistic talent amazed many. He dedicated hour upon hour to perfect each work he created, even taking the time to count each brick of Edgar Allan Poe’s Philadelphia home.
Jim applied his talent and passion to multiple areas of life, such as creating incredible birthday cakes for his children. Whether it was Spongebob or Minnie Mouse, he spent hours perfecting each detail. He enjoyed using his talent and model-making abilities to help his children with projects, including building a Cub Scout Pine Wood Derby car with his son, Jimmy.
Jim saw the world a little differently than others and was able to portray this through his exceptional artwork. This allowed others the ability to experience a glimpse of the beauty he saw in all things.
He was very much a kid at heart with an infectious, fun-loving disposition. From doing silly impressions to watching funny movies, he aimed to put a smile on every face. His fun personality made him especially good with kids, allowing for him to form a long-lasting bond and friendship with his niece Stevie. This bond grew stronger and stronger as time went on and will continue to do so.
Along with his goofiness and talent, Jim’s resilience was evidenced by his ability to overcome life’s many struggles. This allowed for him to deepen a meaningful relationship with his children that will forever be cherished.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 4:00 pm.
