Irene H. Makowski nee Demski

Irene was born April 26, 1916, in Philadelphia, PA. She married Stephen H. Makowski in 1940, and they spent a majority of their married life in Essington, PA. After the death of her husband in 1977, she moved to Turnersville with her daughter and son-in-law until her passing. She worked at Central Penn Bank for several years, and after she retired, she spent the majority of her retirement at her vacation home in Galloway, NJ. She loved watching her favorite television programs and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Irene is immediately survived by a loving daughter, Patricia Anne and her husband Stanley Michael Gura. Two granddaughters – Patricia Anne and her husband Frank Gaetano, Jr., of Newfield, NJ, and Deborah Anne and her husband Louis Granato of Mantua, NJ. Five great-grandchildren – Frankie Gaetano, III; Nicholas Gaetano, Christian Gaetano, Lawson Granato and Delaney Granato.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen H. Makowski. Parents – Ignatius and Eleanore Helen nee Rusiecka Demski. Siblings – Eleanore Rochow, Martha Lukasienski, Chester Demski and Stephen Demski.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, 2011, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at The Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road in Sewell, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:45 am at the church. The burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.
