Gregory McMahon
On January 23, 2023, heaven gained another angel. Gregory McMahon was 64 years old when he was called home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was enduringly devoted to his beloved wife, Carolyn McMahon, and his five children, Dylan, Kailey, Karley, Caitlin and Ryan.
In addition to his wife and children, Greg is survived by his grandchildren Colin and Kiersten, his siblings Dolores DiGregorio (the late Rich), Joseph McMahon (the late Joan), Michael McMahon (Joanne), Denise Hastings (the late Robert & William), Madeleine McMahon (Susan), Joan Bowman, Timothy McMahon (Jodi), Dan McMahon (Donna) and the late Thomas McMahon (Debbie). He is loved by nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Dolores McMahon.
Growing up, Greg resided in West Philadelphia/Upper Darby, PA. He graduated from Upper Darby High School and spent most of his life working to provide for his family. He started his career in the carpenters union and then went on to work for Pacor. After many years in the insulation business, he moved into designing industrial insulation blankets with Pacor’s subsidiary, MHS, Inc. He finished his career at Insulation Materials, Inc. as an outside salesman.
Greg embraced many roles in his life: husband, father, brother, son, “favorite” uncle and perhaps his most well-known known title, Coach. Greg dedicated over a decade to coaching baseball, soccer and basketball. He also gave his time freely to helping out during wrestling matches and Boy Scout meetings and events. He was always involved with his kids and their countless activities.
Greg’s life was always an endless journey of plot twists–never a dull moment when you were with him. From the countless injuries he encountered, to the many stories he told. He thrived while experiencing exciting adventures with his beautiful wife and kids. Greg enjoyed watching Notre Dame and Eagles football as well as Phillies baseball. He loved getting together with his family and friends for “a” beer or a competitive game of corn hole, remodeling his home, and helping others with home projects or any other needs.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at SS. Peter & Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 1:15 PM. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.
