Glenn G. Atkinson, on February 21, 2018, of Washington Twp. Age 57. Beloved husband of Rose M. (nee Leahan). Devoted father of Candice Appice (Nicholas), and Chelsea Atkinson. Loving grandfather of Anthony and Theodore. Cherished son of June (nee Byrne) and the late James G. Atkinson. Dear brother of Kenneth P. Atkinson (Deborah). Also survived by his faithful companions Jake and Scooby.
Glenn was born in Woodbury, New Jersey and raised in Washington Township. After graduating from Washington Township High School, he worked as a landscaper alongside his father, James Atkinson. He proudly served as an Ironworker with Local 399 for over 25 years. Many friends knew him as “Acky”, but to family he was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. Glenn was truly happiest at home, where he would work outside or in his barn. He always found a new project to do, but he made sure Sunday’s were for family. He will be remembered as a great story teller who had the best jokes and the best Halloween parties. Glenn was surely taken too soon, but he will not soon be forgotten.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service Tuesday 10:00 AM. Interment Bethel Cemetery, Washington Twp.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn’s memory may be made to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com.

I didn't know Glenn real well, but when I would be doing something at the Village, he always said hi and had a smile on his face. I know Candace loved him dearly. I am SO SORRY that I missed his viewing and funeral, because I would have been there. I have so much going on right now in my head with Susan leaving me that I don't even know what day or even what time it is anymore. My heart goes out to the family, especially Candace and Nick. He was a good man. And will be dearly missed!
