Giovanni “John” Rosta, on June 13, 2023, of Glassboro. Age 84. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Rosta. Loving father to his niece, the late Renee Owens. He is also survived by his loving godchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.

In 1968, he and his cousin John Raffa became partners at The Birches Barber Shop till the passing of his cousin, John. Still keeping it in the family, he worked with his cousin John’s daughter Carmela up until his retirement day on January 28, 2023. He loved going to the casinos and bowling. He had many friends that he loved hanging out with at the Bowlero in Turnersville and loyal customers who also became his friends over his 55 years of barbering. Carmela and his ‘niece’ Cathy Aversa were by his side as he passed on into eternal life.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 am. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.

I found out today that Mr. John passed away. He cut my hair for close to 25 years. My two sons had their first haircuts and many more by Mr. John. I happened to stop in and got a hair cut on what was Mr. John’s last day. Every time I went to the Birches Barber Shop, it just felt like such a welcoming place. There are so few barber shops like that around anymore. Mr. John would always ask me how my family was doing. Mr. John was a “quiet legend” who positively touched the lives of everybody he encountered. My thoughts and prayers to his family. As you mourn his loss, celebrate the memories. Mr. John is now at his Birches Barber Shop - Heaven location and still cutting hair like he did for a lifetime. RIP, Mr. John.

John cut my hair for years, always great to chat with him. You just don’t find many people like that anymore. RIP

I am very sorry for John's passing. He was a great man. I met John at bowling in Turnersville Bolero. He was nice to talk to, especially talking in Italian and about Italy and drinking wine, and bowling games. He also cut my hair. I will miss him. Rest in peace, il mio amico Giovanni.

Johnny….you were a shining light and a constant at the lanes. You were always happy, smiling and always stopped to say hello! You always asked me how I was bowling and stopped to watch and cheer me on! We will all miss your presence at the lanes. Rest easy Johnny….until we meet again.

I was stunned to hear about Johnny, this makes me so sad. I’ve known Johnny for about 6-7 years and was on his bowling team for 2 years. What a classy, down to earth gentleman that EVERYONE LOVED!!! Let’s take a moment to appreciate the man, the myth, the legend. My condolences to his family.

I will miss Johnny's bright smile and friendly greetings. He will be kept in the hearts of everyone he has met throughout is 84 years on earth. I'm sure he was greeted with open arms in heaven. Rest in Peace Johnny!

So sorry to hear about him. He cut my dads hair for many years . My dad passed in May . I’m sure he’s cutting my dads hair up in heaven . He was a very nice man . God bless your family.

Carmela, please accept my sympathy on John’s passing. He (and you) were always so kind to him. He had macular degeneration which became increasingly worse before he passed five years ago. He was always so kind to Frank,helping him in and out of the chair while they talked about Italy and Italian food! Rest in the Peace of the Lord, John.
