I remember Gilda so well and am very sad to hear of her passing. I recall so many times at lunch her concerns for Judy and Joann . I feel like I missed out on so much and only to learn of her death now is just devastating .

Thank you Gilda for having the courage to accept the responsibilities and sacrifices associated with allowing me to enter this world and you to become my mom. Thank you mom for instilling in me the values that have assisted me in growing into the person that i am. Thank you mom for all the things you gave up to ensure that your children were cared for. Thank you mom for supporting me in all my endeavors, foolish or otherwise, it was something i could always count on. Thank you mom for showing such love to your three beautiful grandchildren who i believe i have passed on some of the love and values you have given to me. Thank you mom for passing down to Alexis her persistence, to Marcus his ball busting sense of humor(oh poor JB takes the brunt of it) and to Justin for his sensitivity and kindness to others. And for JB who wants to say goodbye and leave you some hair. Thank you mom, just for being my mom. Reap your rewards now, it is your time. Richie

Well Mom, yesterday was the big day. Oh and as expected you went out with a bang. i could only think of one way to honor you and that was to hold up the tradition of us being late. we started out with such good intentions. i could hear judi seething all the way in west chester. only five minutes though so wasnt too bad. we did stay to the last minute so at least you cant say we left early like you always did. the number of people who said goodbye was impressive. it made me feel so good to see all the lives you touched. you almost did a somersault when maries's joey leaned a little to far in to kiss you goodbye. its ok the boys would have caught you. the manicotti eulogy was interesting but by the time he was finally through it i was starving and had they been in the oven they would have burned. oh no we know how that would have made you mad. maria dijohn came through big time with her remembrance of you at the close of the ceremony. thank you maria. oh and the ride to the cemetery, well let me just say it was memorable. again, maries joey took the lead and let the funeral director know how much he appreciated their navigation. thanks joe. i know visiting the cemetary wasnt up there on your list of to dos but i am so glad you are now with grandmom. you can share some cooking stories. oh those were priceless. two bulls working side by side in a kitchen of love. and finally, when the priest spritzed you with holy water i saw a couple of droplets stream down the side of your new physical home. i thought of them as your tears. but there is no need to be sad mom, everyone you have touched is better for it and we know you will always be around. Love you and be at peace! richie
