George Kaizar was a legend. Anyone who knew him, loved him. He grew up on Brown Street in Philadelphia where although he was an only child, he lived next to his best friends who also were his cousins. Teenage George worked at the Acme while attending Saint Joseph’s University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Working at Acme also introduced him to Cookie, the love of his life, and he was married to her for 55 years. They had four children and he quickly became the best father that anyone could ask for. He often said his greatest accomplishment was being a father, but what most people didn’t know was that he had an incredible career designing intelligence systems for the US Navy; Keeping our country safe and using his amazing mathematic abilities enabled him to be a strong provider for his family. In addition to his career and family, he somehow found time to coach sports, teach CCD, help with homework, fix things around the house, and restore the Olde Stone House Village with Cookie as the historical society president. George retired at 62 and decided he should stay home and “assist” Cookie with household chores. Once he tried to tell her how to make her gravy, she informed him he’d be getting a new job. He launched a second career as a realtor and a third as a substitute teacher. George faced some tough medical situations the last 20 years but overcame the odds every time. After Cookie passed, he quickly took on a new role as the family’s best friend. He was a great listener, always quick to offer support, and always pushing us to strive for the best in life even if it was hard work. He loved to fish, play poker, golf and watch the Phillies & Eagles. His latest adventure was residing at the Landings with his best friend Leon, where he spent his days enjoying all of his favorite things in life. It was a blessing to have him in your life. We know he is in heaven with the love of his life, and they are dancing again forever.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Monday 1:30-3:30 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown, Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 3:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in George’s memory be made to Friends of the Olde Stone House, P.O. Box 138 Grenloch Terrace, NJ 08032.
