Joseph G. DeRosa, Sr., on August 29, 2023, of Erial. Age 84. Beloved husband of Wilhelmina (nee De Lue). Devoted father of Theresa Sciulli, Lucy Buffington (the late Michael), Dominic DeRosa (Kelly), Veronica Piccone (Paul) and the late Joseph G. DeRosa, Jr. Loving grandfather of Tara, Michael, Kristi, Dominique, Alexis, Lisa, Gianna, Nicholas, Dominic, Jr., Joseph, III, Pauly, and Ava. Proud great-grandfather of Antonio, Nicolette, Natalia, Giovanni, and Lucia. Dear brother of the late Rosemarie Branca.
Joseph was married to the love of his life Wilhelmina, and proud father of five. He was kind and generous to everyone he knew and met (genuine heart of gold). Enjoyed attending sporting events for his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Enjoyed hosting Christmas Parties for family & friends. In his leisure time, he attended lunch & Highland wrestling matches with his buddies, he also rooted for Williamstown. Coached Blackwood LL Baseball for 10 years. He served on several boards where he was a key part of the growth & success of the community. GT County Committee, Commissioner for GT MUA, Supervisor of Board of Elections, Commissioner for Lambs Terrace Fire Company for 18 years. He was a genuine class act; his legacy will live on.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope/St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Blackwood. Entombment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
