George A. Smith IV

(September 17, 1977 – August 14, 2026)

Georgie was raised by his grandmother, Audrey Smith. He lovingly gave her the nickname “Memaw,” a name that was embraced and carried throughout the family. He cherished the time spent swimming in Memaw’s pool with his wife and family.

A multi-sport athlete, Georgie competed in football, basketball, and especially baseball—his strongest sport. As a standout starting pitcher, he earned recognition as a multi-time All-Star.

George was known for his warm humor and the way he could make everyone around him laugh. A deeply artistic and musical soul, he spent many years as a talented barber and hairstylist, bringing creativity and care to his craft.

In his free time, George found joy in playing his guitars, fishing, and sharing games of wiffle ball with his cousin Michael. A devoted sports fan, he cheered passionately for Liverpool Football Club, the New York Mets, and the Denver Broncos.

George is survived by his loving wife, Jana; his daughter, Meadow; his father, George; his aunts Nancy, Luann, and Denise; his uncle’s Michael and Joe; his cousins Adam, Alexis, Michael, Adriana, Diana, Tina, and Gerry; as well as his grandmother, Gaye; brothers Jimmy and Andrew; and sister, Ashley.

He will forever remain in our hearts. You’ll never walk alone Georgie! Rest in peace.

George’s life will be honored and remembered by his family.
