Dearest John, Debbie, Franny and family, I offer my deepest, deepest condolences to you on the loss of your mother. This is going to be long because it is what she deserved. I think you all know how I felt when I first saw that your mom had passed. After I finished crying, I cleared my mind and thought about what I was going to say that would truly express how I felt about her. Although I worked full time two years later at Washington Township High School, I first met Fran in 1976 when I was hired as a free-lance team sports photographer. I donated a 16"x20" wall photo of the high school's team mascot, the Minuteman and Fran scheduled my appointment to meet with the building principal, Dave DeGroodt. This began my 45 year friendship with a woman who was so dedicated to her work that she had no equal. Fran was one of the kindest, warmest, most caring and loving people I have had the pleasure to call my friend. No request was ever too big. She was the most perfect "middle person" between Dave and his staff. I ran and operated our yearly graduation ceremonies and there were times when I needed a piece of audio equipment replaced. In-person meetings with Dave about taking money from the budget required him to be in the best of moods. I would call down to Fran, give her a code word and she would usually tell me that it wasn't a good time to meet with him because he was in an intense meeting with the superintendent, a parent or some such thing. About an hour after the meeting ended, she would call me in my office and simply say, "Jim, NOW!" and hung up. When I would meet with Dave he would say, "It's a good thing you weren't in here an hour ago. You must be psychic." On the way out I would normally give a quick hug to Fran. Through the many years she and I had been in attendance at many mutual social events. She was always the same smiling, loving, funny person. I adored her and her personality. After losing my mom to Covid-19, outside of my immediate family, she was the first person to call me to offer her condolences. Fran was the best: the best wife, mother, grandmother and aunt and a friend to everyone. Not only was it a pleasure to have known her for 45 years, it was an absolute honor to call her my friend. Fran, you are loved by so many and will be missed by even more. I know because I miss you already. You are now back with Tony, the love of your life. I will NEVER forget you. May you rest in eternal peace with our Lord and Savior.

Fran, Debbie, and John: I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I know she meant everything to you, and like your beloved father, she will live forever in your hearts. I cherish my childhood memories of holiday dinners at your house…“Big Franny” and “Little Franny,” your wonderful dad Tony always with an arm around your mom, all us cousins listening to the “grown-ups” conversations, and Pierre lying under the table. So much love in that house. May that love carry all of you, and your families, through this difficult time.

Fran was my dear friend for many many years. Her beautiful smile will always remain with me. Her family was a greatest joy. I called her several weeks before Christmas and she said "can't talk to long as waiting for Twp bus." How typical. Joe and I have been doing church on line because I am not well but she will be in our prayers on Friday and always. Our deepest sympathy to all. Rest in peace Franny. Much love Barbara and Joe Costello

So sorry for your loss John, Debra and Fran. Your mom was a special woman. Her and your Dad were a part of my youth that I’ll never forget. I ran into her as I was leaving Kohl’s one day last year and we talked for about 20 minutes. I left with a good feeling because I hadn’t seen her since high school. But it was like no time had passed at all. My prayers are with your whole Family.
