I did not know Trooper McCarson but I can relate to what his family is going through...I am the widow of State Trooper Robert J. Prato #2353, EOW 12/2/69, who also died in the line of duty when he was only 25 years old and had just graduated the State Police Academy after a little over a year. .We had 2 sons that were two and four years old.. My life was totally devastated and I totally know what you all are going through.. Please know that with all the love and support of your family, and the State Police family, you will be able to get through all of this., as I did. My sincere sympathy to you all and my prayers and love are with you. Joann Prato

My sincere condolences to Eli's Family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. God brought Eli home too early.
Gosh this is hard. I can still see Eli and His Brother's at the Lake. Eli was a kind, gentle young man. I remember he came to my daughter Eden's Birthday party. All the girls had a crush on him. He was so gracious with them. He treated them all with genuine kindness and made them all feel special. My daughters hearts are broken. They remember the bond fire's at there home. They Loved hanging out at the McCarson's and Loved there parent's. They Loved attending Youth Group at Lamb's Road with the gang. And Loved Mr. McCarson there Dad who taught them and would always make it a point to say Hello to Eden & Ariel. We all Loved you Eli. And I do Praise The Lord that we will see you again. Sending our Love and prayers to your Family. :( <3

My deepest condolences to the McCarson's and all those who knew Eli. Even though I wasn't close with Eli in the brief times that I had the pleasure of interacting with him I can say that he was a wonderful person. He was always smiling and full of happiness. To my friends who attended Lambs Road, Eli's passing saddens me and I feel the even greater sadness of how hurt everyone must be. I wish I lived closer to offer comfort but know that as far away as I am, Eli and everyone who is grieving is in my prayers. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of such a beautiful soul.
Thought I wasn't good friends with Eli, I've known him since I was about 14. I had always looked up to him and the other older kids. He was always so nice to me, despite my shy and awkward ways. Eli was kind, generous, funny and outgoing. I'm so saddened by his passing. You are all in my thoughts

Right off the bat I wanna say ,this is all very sudden and Im still in shock and denial that a person such as eli is gone. I thought that God doesn't take the good ones and let's them be at peace to do his work on earth, for him. I just can't wrap my mind around this unfortunate loss and how I'm going to move on mentally. There's a great quote, I want to share, it ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. Nothing hits harder than life, and this is another obstacle god has for me, to dodge , with the passing of eli. I missed ya when you left pablos, and that was ok, but the way you left us on that dreary horrible day is not ok, because I can't see you anymore. Please god give him back to us , he had alot left to live for and alot more love to give out. Answer my prayer in Jesus name, amen. My thoughts and many prayers are with you the mccarson family
May God watch over Eli and his family. God Bless #2660 NJSP

My deepest condolences to the McCarson family, may you find comfort in prayer and the beautiful words of Isaiah 25:8 where God promises us that He will soon eliminate all death and suffering.
My thoughts and prayers are with the McCarson family and relatives. To know Eli was to love Eli. Eli personified all that it meant to be a stand up and stand out guy. I fondly remember our Rutgers Days and seeing him on campus and then our Don Pablo's crew and all the years he put in there. He was the kindest most helpful person I knew. Eli you are gone too soon but the world was better because of your presence. You left everyone better because of your loving ways. RIP.
From one Law enforcement family to another please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. God bless all of you.
Sincerely,
The McDevitt Family

Jordan. Although I did not know State Trooper McCarson or his Family, I am so saddened for all of you. I read about many of the wonderful qualities that Eli possessed and loving and sweet memories that people had of him. I also read that Jordan and Eli recently married and am so sorry that you will not celebrate many Anniversaries. Many people have and will offer you words of Sympathy and Condolences and , hopefully, they will help ease your loss knowing that so many people care and love you. I offer you my Prayers which I hope will help comfort you. May Eli Rest in Peace.

Eli you will be greatly missed. You was always a joy to be around in school. And I remember when you and Nathan came over to my house twice. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Eli was always the smiling face behind the bar welcoming us to Don Pablos. Every Friday my mom had the kids and it was date night, so we’d head to the bar for a meal and a drink and to chat with Eli if he was in.
We saw him for years and chatted about his family, his brothers, his uncle, and even heard when he met Jordan and how excited he was that life had become so wonderful with her. He would tell us about the state troopers too and my husband and I kept encouraging him not to give up on getting in.
This was such a sweet and kind guy that when we needed to handle pouring some concrete for a foundation at the house, Eli volunteered to come over and give my husband a hand. He even joked when I brought them cool drinks that it was a surprising twist.
We kept in touch with him as often as we could and when he left the restaurant, we kept up with him through friends and his brother Noah. Every visit started with the same question, “So how’s Eli doing?”. We heard that he got into the state troopers and congratulated him. We heard of his engagement and were so happy for him.
Our hearts were broken Sunday night when we saw his face on the news. I instantly broke up over his sudden tragic loss. My husband couldn’t believe it. If there was ever a ‘good guy’, an example for all the world to hold up, it was Eli. Kind, friendly, good natured, and just a very good guy.
We can’t imagine the grief his family and Jordan are feeling right now, but I think we’re all suffering with his loss. He was one of the best we ever knew and he’ll be missed terribly.
Our thoughts and prayers go to his parents, brothers, and Jordan during this heart wrenching time of grief. Someone precious was lost and I don’t imagine the pain will get easier any time soon, but I hope we can all find a fond memory of Eli and find a smile.
My sincerest condolences to the entire McCarson family during this difficult time. I began recalling all the wonderful memories with Eli, Nate, and Aaron at the lake. Those are some of my favorite memories and best times I've ever had, I will cherish them always. I pray that you all find peace and comfort knowing the Eli is with the Lord and thay everyone he met, he touched in a special way.

Elis death has touched us here in Ireland. I read about the accident and it struck me. I then looked up Elis Facebook page and saw the life of a great young man. I also uploaded the magnificent photo of him and his young wife at his graduation.
With so many friends and adventures under his belt, Eli struck me as a guy who simply loved life to the very fullest.
I hope the family gain so much strength knowing what a fantastic son they had.
Eli has not gone, he has merely slipped off into the other room.
May god bless
Best regards
