Elaine K. Leonelli (nee Shutz), on November 1, 2013, of Washington Twp. Age 68. Beloved wife of 46 years to Gerald. Loving mother of Lisa Leonelli and Kristin Leonelli. Devoted Nana of Nate and Zoe Clark. She was predeceased by her parents Helen (nee Reimold ) and Eric Shutz, mother-in-law, Jane Merle and brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Dorothy Leonelli. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Joseph Leonelli, many loving nieces and nephews and cousin Linda and James Dye.
Elaine loved to live life. She was a teacher for 33 years, working for the Washington Twp. School District.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Thursday 11:00 am at Apostles Lutheran Church, 4401 Black Horse Pike, Turnersville, NJ 08012.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Research Institute (MSRI), Penn Treaty Park Place, 1341 N. Delaware Ave, Suite 213, Philadelphia, PA 19125.
Arrangements are under the care of the EGIZI FUNERAL HOME, Washington Twp. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com.

Elaine will always have a special place in my heart I grew up knowing her, she was a great person inside and out, loved life, loved the children she taught including me when I was a child. She went on to help my son through a tough time in school showing him he could do it, he was smart enough. She was a great neighbor always smiled from across the street going over having coffee and a talk just because. I will miss her deeply.

Mrs. Leonelli was an amazing teacher who introduced me to ancient cultures & civilizations in my 6th grade social studies class. I was lucky enough to grow close to her & the entire Leonelli family as a teenager, including summer days in Ocean City with Mrs. Leonelli and Kristin. I'm heartbroken to learn of her passing but so grateful for Mrs. Leonelli to have been apart of my life growing up. I will always remember her smile and the way she challenged me to think at things. Sending a big hug to Kristin, Lisa, Mr. Leonelli and the entire Leonelli family. Miss and love you guys, I'm so sorry I couldn't be back in NJ with you.

Even though we only would get to see Elaine and you maybe 1-2 times per year, when you came to Syracuse, it was like no time had passed. We always enjoyed our lunches and dinners with Elaine. After all, we had been friends for over 50 years (yes, we met in Junior High School at age 14!)...so we always had so much to catch up on. She was a special friend and will always have a special place in our hearts. She fought her terrible disease with such grace and dignity...and we were always amazed at her tenacity to live her life as fully as possible with all the travelling you did to so many places. May these memories of a special lady sustain you all. She will never be forgotten.
