Ed loved life! In his own words, “I love being alive, my family, the friends I’ve made and Philadelphia sports.” He instilled this character trait in each of his six children, thirteen grandchildren, as well as his first great grandson who was born this past August. He proudly served in the United States Army holding the rank of an MP, earning a Purple Heart, and Honorably Discharged in 1968. He was known to his grandchildren as “Mr. Christmas.” One of his favorite traditions were to take the family to Philadelphia at Christmas time to watch the Wanamaker’s Light show. He was a proud South Philadelphia Italian who loved the city of brotherly love. Ed was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Philadelphia and New Jersey chapters. A great passion of his was going to the theater. You could often find him in the Gold Room of the Academy of Music or the Walnut Street Theater.
In his youth, he was a classic car aficionado. Ed will always be known as a large presence in his children/grandchildren’s lives from coaching various sports teams, dance recitals, graduations, birthdays or anywhere his family was found. Dad lived the life out of every day and lives on in the hearts of all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with family Friday 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral Service 3:00 pm.

In the words of the great Frank Sinatra
“And now the end is near, So I face the final curtain.
My friends, I’ll say it clear.
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain.
I’ve lived a life that’s full,
I traveled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.”
GO BIRDS!!!
