Edward Allan (“Al”) Fehon, 80, passed peacefully into eternal life on June 21, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of West Orange, he relocated earlier this year to Sicklerville. Predeceased by his parents, Robert George Fehon and Helen Ann (Merklinger) Fehon. Survived by his wife of 57 years Margaret (Crotty) Fehon; children James E. (Cynthia) Fehon, Melissa (Anthony) Verardi, and Alexis Fehon (Greg Bomba); grandchildren Anthony Verardi, Julia Verardi, and Stephen E. Fehon. Also survived by brother Robert Grant Fehon; sisters-in-law Eileen Hutchinson, Maureen Sweeney, Patricia Kennedy, and Joanne Crotty; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Al served in the U.S. Army 237th Combat Engineers in Helibronn, Germany and then enjoyed a long career with Verizon as a project manager before retiring in 2001. For many years, he served as a head usher at St. Joseph’s Church in West Orange and volunteered at a community soup kitchen. He was a lifelong artist, enjoyed golfing, reading mysteries, socializing with loving family and friends, and fishing in Barnegat Light and Milford, PA.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 9:30-11:00 AM at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ 08012. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace Parish/St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Williamstown. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.
