December 29, 1917 - January 16, 2012

Edith I. Bozza nee Saravello, on January 16, 2012, of Clarksboro, formerly of South Philadelphia. Age 94. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Bozza. Devoted mother of Maryann Dogostino Anthony and Louis Bozza. Loving grandmother of Leanne Shannon Ron and Darren Dogostino Michelle. Proud great-grandmother of Nicholas, Michael, and Juliana Dogostino, Kaylie and Alyssa Shannon. Dear sister of Dora Galardi, Evelyn Bonafiglia, Josephine Erace, Michael Saravello, Jr. Kayand the late Matilda Ficca, Ann Woolsey, Lena Ioven, Rita Renna and Domenic Saravello. Sister-in-law of Gilda Saravello. Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews and the many caregivers at Shady Lane Home in Clarksboro who enriched her spirit and life in her final years.
Mrs. Bozza was a devout Roman Catholic whose compassion and concern for others was boundless. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She now rests in peace in the loving arms of Jesus and His Blessed Mother in Heaven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing 9:00 – 10:00 am, Friday, St. Paul Parish, 808 S. Hutchinson Street, Philadelphia. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon.

I will miss her so much. What a wonderful blessing she has been to me these past 5 years. She's been the grandmother everyone would love to have. For her I am very happy that she is truly home at last. such a great Christian woman. I'll see you again one day.

Edith was a delightful lady that I grew to love at Shady Lane. Who ever wrote her obituary knew her well.She looked after Dora and Evelyn . She always had a smile and was so appreciative of any thing you did for her. I only hope I grow old gracefully like Edith. You will be missed.

We first meet Edie at Shady Lane where she was our mother'sMartha roommate. They became good friends...laughed,cried&shared their days together. They became each other's angels. We would bring our grandsons to see their Oma quite often. Well, these boys gave Oma & Edie a show everytime! They loved watching them bounce on the bed, push the wheelchairs around & entertain them!The boys filled their days with joy! Our mother & Edie gave back more to us then they knew...hope, love & the belief that LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! After our mother's passing we continued our visits to Edie.The boys enjoyed seeing her & would ask us, "when are we going to see Mrs. Bozza again?" I remember on one visit, our grandson Jacob sat on Mrs. Bozza's little foot rest & started reciting the poem, Little Miss Muffet. Edie laughed & laughed! God used Edie tremendously in her last days....she drew you close to Him. We thank God for knowing this sweet, sweet lady, Mrs. Bozza. With thanks & gratitude

To my beautiful Aunt “E”, Edie Bird, It is hard to list all the wonderful memories I have of you, starting from a little girl, always admiring your beautiful porcelain skin and tiny hands moving forward to your loving care of Peter and all his trips in the coach to 9th street. How Little Lena adored you and rightfully so, you are the true example of unconditional love not only for your immediate family but for all whose lives you have touched. May you forever be at peace with your loved ones who have passed. I adore you, lovingly Janny

What a beautiful lady inside and out. What a joy in my life to have known her and enjoyed being with her every Friday. She loved to talk about cooking and was just a wonderful person-wish I had known her longer. Will miss her very much

Mrs. Bozza was an angel to care for, my mother and I where blessed to have the privalge, my mom for the most part. Mrs. Bozza quickly became close to our hearts and our family, almost like a mom and a grandmother. She was the person we would look forward to seeing first thing in the morning. She always made you feel like the job that you where doing for her was always wanted and appreciated. We would love to just go and sit and chat with her. You where always greeted with love, she always asked about you and the family before she would ask for something for herself. She has watched both my children grow and they loved to visit her. She will forever hold a place in our hearts and memories. She will be deeply missed, and we are all blessed that we have an angel in heaven like her, who will look over us everyday. We love you!!! Even though I only knew Edith for a few short months she changed my life. Working at Shady Lane, where she lived, was truly special for me because of her kindness and wonderful spirit. She always greeted me with 'hiya' and told me all about her wonderful family and friends. I will miss her so much and God bless her family in this time of need.
