Dorothy R. Blaszczyk (nee Carbone), on September 30, 2019, of Washington Twp. Age 93. Beloved wife of the late William S. Blaszczyk, Sr. Predeceased by son William, Jr. Devoted mother of Dorothy Moore (Joseph), Joseph Blaszczyk, Thomas Blaszczyk (Maria), Judith Miller (Russell), John Blaszczyk (Karen), Jeannine Savage (Charles), and Michael Blaszczyk (Maria). Loving grandmother of Billy, Chrissy, Bobby, Adrienne, Mary, Joe, Beth, Marlea, Theresa, Johnny, Jimmy, Tommy, Michael, Kelly, Joey, Maria, and Julianna. Proud great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother of many. Dear sister of Marian.
Dorothy died peacefully, surrounded by family, at her home in Sewell, NJ, after a brief illness. She was born April 29, 1926, to Joseph and Mary Carbone in Philadelphia, PA. She attended Girls High and graduated from West Philadelphia High School. After graduation, she met our father William Blaszczyk on a blind date. They would marry in 1947. Together, they would have eight children: Billy, Dodo, Joe, Tom, Judy, John, Jeannine, and Michael. Their children gave them many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great – great grandchildren. Dorothy’s primary job was being a mother first. All her children knew they were loved by her so very much. Her love of family, her strength, and her unwavering faith served as a model to many. She was a proud Italian, and equally proud of her children’s Polish heritage as well. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church for over 40 years, serving as an extraordinary minister in her later years. She would later serve communion to the elderly and homebound of the parish. She worked many years in retail at the Echelon and Deptford malls. She loved her dancing and music, especially Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. She also loved the casinos in Atlantic City. She made visits to the casinos weekly, well into her 80’s. For those of us who accompanied her on a casino trip, we knew it would be a long night. She enjoyed watching the Phillies, even attending the 2008 World Series victory parade. She also enjoyed watching the Sixers. She will rest forever next to her husband, William Sr. Her legacy will remain with her family forever. She is now dancing in the arms of her husband. She will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday 9:15 – 11:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 pm at the Church of the Holy Family. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
