Dorothy M. Shane

(nee Loughlin) On October 14, 2021 of Washington Twp.  Age 95.  Beloved wife of Harry.  Devoted mother of Darlene Pekula (Walter), Gerard Shane (Mary Kay), the late Dennis Shane and the late James Shane.  Loving grandmother of Joanne, Denny, Chris, Christopher, Daniel, Nicholas, Timothy, Joseph, Lisa, Kelly, Tyler, Olivia, and Nina.  Proud great-grandmother of 21.  Dear sister of the late William, Johnny, Kenny, Frances, and Caroline.  Loved by many nieces and nephews.

Dot was born and raised in her beloved Fishtown. She met the love of her life, Harry, there on Richmond Street. They grew up together. Married in 1946 and later moved to Birch St. in Port Richmond/ Kensington. They raised their family there and spent every summer with family and friends at Wilson Lake.
They later moved to Mirror Lake in Browns Mill. Dot was a long time parishioner  of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church there, volunteering for many programs. More recently they moved to Turnersville living with her daughter and husband. She will always be remembered for how much she loved her kids, grandkids and their spouses and her many great grandchildren. She always loved when there was a family gathering. We will miss her tremendously.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation Friday 10:30-12:00 PM at the Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd. Washington Twp.  Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM.  Entombment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
