Dorothy “Dot” Dzierzgowski, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, left this world on April 18th, 2022, at the age of 86. She was born and raised in Camden, NJ. Dot attended Camden High and went on to graduate Trenton State College in 1956. She began her elementary school teaching career at Haddon Heights. In the summer of 1961, this Jersey Girl met her Philadelphia guy, Walter, in Wildwood. They fell in love, married on August 4th, 1962, and eventually settled down in Washington Township where they spent their next 51 years together. Together they raised 3 children, Sharon, Walt, and Scott. Dot was a caring 1st grade teacher, teaching at the Birches Elementary School for 18 more years. Along with watching her students grow, she also enjoyed watching her own children and grandchildren grow. Dot loved to brag about all their activities and accomplishments. She never missed the opportunity! Of course, all this can be said about her beloved Phillies too! Although Dot suffered a long road with dementia, she always had a smile for everyone until the very end. We will all miss her and those beautiful crystal blue eyes but know that she is finally at peace.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday 8:15-10:15 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment, Gloucester County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
