Doris M. Murphy
(nee Harris) Sadly on November 13, 2019 of Margate. Age 85. Devoted mother of Dorothy Morelli (Vincent) and Todd Murphy (Roseann).
Loving grandmother of Santino, Alessandro, Carmine, Todd and Dominic. Proud great-grandmother of Giacomo. Dear sister of Mary Adkins, Terri Fretz and the late Edward Harris.
Doris was born in the Bronx, New York until her family moved to Philadelphia, PA. where she resided until she married and moved to Morrisville, PA. After several years she moved to New Jersey and lived in Atlantic City and Margate for the remainder of her life. Doris had two children, a daughter Dorothy and a son Todd. Doris was a beloved mother in law to Vincent and Roseann and a loving grandmother to 5 grandsons, Santino, Alessandro, Carmine, Todd and Dominic. She recently became a Great Grandmother to Giacomo.
From the time Doris graduated Little Flower High School she worked in the Automotive Industry and worked her way up to a Comptroller. She was a very strong businesswoman in an industry that was predominately men. She was a woman working in a “Mans’ World” and she was very successful! She worked at many dealerships through the years until her retirement. Doris received many awards and acknowledgements throughout her career, but she was most honored to have the title of NaNa. She loved spending time with each and every grandchild. They loved to play blocks with her and watch movies and have her make them breakfast. She made the best breakfast! Doris’s hobbies included going to the casinos’, playing bingo, cleaning and traveling the world. Doris lived a full life with a lot of love and happiness with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday 9:00-10:30 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:15 am at the Church of the Holy Family, Washington Twp. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
