Don G. Letzgus, on April 22, 2012, of Washington Twp. Age 76. Beloved husband of Emma nee Roseman. Devoted father of Don, Linda, Nancy and George. Loving grandfather of Ryan. Dear brother of Lannie Carol and the late Ronnie Sissy. Dear brother-in-law of Nancy Poserina Bob, and the late Joan McKenna John.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday, 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 – 11:00 am at the EGIZI FUNERAL HOME, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.

Don will be greatly missed, I had the privilege of working with him when he was at DuPont Chambers Works. We had many laughs. He was such a sweet person. My prayers are with his family.

Don, I will truly miss you. When I had my own personal battle with cancer, you were the one that lifted my spirit, and kept me from falling into the abyss of despair and depression. I tried to do the same for you. I will never forget you, and there will always be a place for you in my heart. God bless you my friend. Walt

Nancy: your Dad was the best, but then again you all know that. He was always there for his family. He always had a smile and was the sweetest man. He will surely be missed. He is at peace now, the suffering has ended. He will forever be smiling down on you.

I was fortunate enough to work with Don on several contracts since 1972. We shared office space and actually lived in the same rooming house once in N.Y. Synerfac remember Linda? would call to attain character references on Don and, I always said the same thing. “How many superlatives are there in the English language? Mr. Letzgus has always excelled in every challenge and accomplishment that he has endured.” Obviously he was truly a friend of mine. If you worked with Papa Smurf, you always enjoyed going to work. It is with deep sorrow to hear of Don's passing. Don and I enjoyed a tremendous friendship and working relationship. Don was professional and a wonderful asset to our working environment, and always maintained a positive and jovial attitude. I'll always miss you Don, and thanks for everything my friend. I think we all have lost a great friend. Don was a mentor to me and he and I shared a lot of homemade cookies. Don was a traveling contractor that loved his family. And you, his family, will be in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and be that source of "Comfort" that you so desperately need in these hours!

I have known Don since 2001 and worked with him on at least two different projects. Don was a great friend and co-worker, him and I have joked around a lot and he was a lot of fun. He was a great worker and a great provider for his family, he will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family in this time of extreme need, so sorry for your loss.

I was blessed to have known Mr. Don. He was a loving and kind man. He was proud of his family and loved them very much. I will miss him. I know he is in heaven smiling down on us all.

Having been a next door neighbor to the Letzgus family for more than 40 years, the news of Don's passing truly saddens me and my family. Don was such a nice man who showed so much pride for his family and his home. A kind and caring man who would do anything for anyone who needed help. It was always a pleasure to work with Don. Papa Smurf, the Monopoly Man, Munch.. call him what you want he was always upbeat and always had a great story to share. Don the world will miss you.

I just met Don last year at St. Lucie. He's instantly likeable. I'm in my 40s and Don was teaching me stuff on computers and about the Nuke Industry. He's someone everybody would want to be related to. The world needs more Dons. At the end of the day he always had a funny send off till tomorrow. I'll Miss you Papa Smurf.

In "our" field of work traveling,meeting new people etc. you don,t often find someone as easy and personable as "Jersey". He truly is missed. My deapest condolences to all family and friens.

The Smurf was a good man and always cheerful worked with him at Watts Barr

I personally knew Don very well for several years. He was one of the most considerate person I knew and a trustworthy friend. His memory will live with me for a long time to come and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

I enjoyed working with Don at DuPont in New Jersey. He was a GREAT planner.

Don Papa Smuf was a wonderful guy, we had allot of laughs at DuPont, Don always know just how to make you feel better...I will always remember the love he had for his children...he was always doing something with love for them...God Bless you my friend and your family.

I'm so sorry to hear for your loss, Don was a great guy, enjoyed working with him over the years. He was part of our planning team at Indian point, he will be greatly missed.Rest in Peace "Pappa Smurf" this was the nickname we gave him at Indian Point.

Don was a graet guy, really enjoyed working with him here at Seabrook Station. My sincere condolences to you all. He will be missed.

Cindy also lost her father to mesothelioma. We first met Don in 1985 in Vermont. She and Don teased each other about their being "vertically challenged"--Cindy was a fraction taller. The Munchkin became an endearing nickname with the shortened version "Munchie" being misunderstood by "outsiders. We just got this news and will always have fond memories of Don.

To Don's family. My husband and I met Don and little Don briefly at the MESO meeting in Philadelphia and my husband later visited Don in the hospital. We were both praying he would pull through the surgery and treatment. When I had not heard anymore I googled Don's name and was saddened to read of his passing. My thoughts are with you all. I could see the love he had for his family from our brief meeting. May you be comforted by his memory. Karen & Bill McQueen

The Letzgus family, Just found out about Don's passing. Very sorry to hear about his recent troubles. Our friend Durf was telling me about Don's conversation in the emergency room down south when he was asking the Dr. "Why are you so concerned with my feet when it's my breathing I'm having trouble with?" Needless to say Don being a man of action walked out from seeing the podiatrist and got on a plane to PA to get looked at there. We worked together a few years for PFI and at Millstone. Truly a great, knowledgable, entertaining and human individual. He will be greatly missed by the many he had contact with.
