Dianne Allen (nee Shoppe). Age 74. Died peacefully on September 27, 2015 with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Beloved daughter of the late George and Dorothy (nee Roscoe) Shoppe, widow of the late Charles Joseph Tetter, and the late Alexander “Tom” Allen, survived by her loving daughter, Dawn Baker (Eddie) three dear grandchildren, Jessica, Bryan and Carlie, her sisters, Pam Comi (Jim) and Adrienne Gill (the late Chuck) and many nieces and nephews.
Dianne was born in Plainfield, NJ. She graduated from Berkeley Secretarial School, in East Orange, NJ. She moved to Long Branch, NJ with her first husband, Charlie, and then to Manasquan where she worked as a legal secretary in Sea Girt, and enjoyed life in a beach town, with Charlie and Dawn. Widowed at a young age, she found love again and married Tom in 1986. They lived in Bloomfield, NJ, where she also worked as a legal secretary. Dianne was a member of Bloomfield Presbyterian Church on the Green, where she served as a Deacon and an Elder.
Dianne enjoyed bowling, collecting beanie babies and spoiling her daughter and three grand children. She loved attending yard sales, and held an elaborate annual sale at her house, that she prepared for meticulously. Her entire family has many fond memories of her thoughtfulness at holidays and special occasions with goodies she searched for throughout the whole year, to be sure everyone at a gathering had a gift. She also truly enjoyed sharing the hobbies of those she loved, including fishing, antique cars, and trains. Dianne was also a devoted owner to her beloved pet pugs.
Dianne will be best remembered for her very kind spirit and her bright smile. She quickly made friends everywhere she went. She faced each new challenge with dignity and that bright smile, and will be greatly missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Saturday 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 9:30 AM. Graveside service will take place Saturday 11:45 am at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan, NJ.
