I worked with David on numerous projects over the past 25 years - before the Manalapan Tp Zoning Board - on the NJMHA Board of Trustees and with mutual clients. He was the type of professional and the type of person I was always glad to see and work with . He made me smile every time. He will be sorely missed. - Chris Hanlon

If you knew David professionally then you soon knew David as a friend. I have never met someone with such honesty and warmth. David always saw the positive and ALWAYS was very encouraging. I got to know David through the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) Small Companies Committee. I was fortunate enough to get to interact with David on several projects and we became fast friends. I always enjoyed time spent with David and feel I am a better person for this time. I will miss him.

Uncle David was wonderful, generous, loving and fun. He always made an effort to be at every important family event (with Aunt Roseanne too of course). They came and visited us in Puerto Rico, New Orleans and Biloxi! I am very thankful for his kindness and wonderful example. We will continue to work on raising our young David to be as loving as his great-uncle. Though we will miss him at all of our family events (as Kristin said below), we know heaven is celebrating his arrival. May God expand his legacy and may His glory be shown through the life my uncle lived.

Dave Monie was quite simply put: honest, warm and welcoming. Dave genuinely cared for everyone he met and he took the time to understand the people them. In Dave's presence things were never rushed, but they were comfortable, interesting and thought provoking. Over the past 12 years of knowing Dave, every time I left his presence I found myself trying a little harder to be like him. Dave will be missed and I know he is in a better place. God Bless you Dave.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

When I was released from prison on July 15, 1999 I called Prison Fellowship Ministries and asked them if there were any Christ centered resources or groups for men coming out of prison in southern New Jersey. The person on the other end of the line said that someone would call me back but I didn’t really ever expect to hear from anyone. A day or two later I got a telephone call from Jerry Stackpol e, the Prison Fellowship Area Director here in New Jersey. He told me about a group of men in Turnersville, New Jersey, meeting under the name of South Jersey Aftercare, who helped men following their release from prison. They were meeting on a monthly basis and I went to their meeting in August of 1999. The individual who started that group and led that group was Dave Monie. From my very first meeting, I was loved unconditionally by Dave. It was so awesome to be received in that way…just the way Jesus received me. When I had the opportunity to talk with Dave last Friday November 27th in the hospital, I shared with him how awesome an example he was of obedience and faithfulness regarding the things of the Lord. He never committed a crime… Never was incarcerated… Yet when the Lord placed the burden upon his heart to visit those in prison and share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with them, he stepped up to the plate and served faithfully for 20 years. When that the Lord placed a burden upon his heart for the children of prisoners, Dave jumped in (along with his helper suitable Roseanne) and served hundreds and hundreds of children through the ministry of Angel Tree. And, of course, when the Lord burdened his heart to help men coming out of prison-- way before that became fashionable-- Dave again answered the call and, along with a few other men, formed South Jersey Aftercare as an affiliate of Network for Life (a ministry of Prison Fellowship). Dave saw the need and he met it. I will be forever grateful to Dave for his Godly obedience and faithfulness, as well as his example. Had Dave not stepped up to the plate and formed the ministry of South Jersey Aftercare, I don’t know what might’ve happened when I came out of prison. Thank you Dave for your love of the Lord, your love of all prisoners and ex-offenders and your love for me. You are now home with the lover of your soul. Bill Antinore

I had the honor and privilege of meeting 'Uncle' Dave (and Roseanne :) almost 25 years ago...wow, how time flies! An undeniably Christian gentleman, Dave leaves an infallible legacy of generosity, kindness, and concern for others. My three kids have grown up experiencing Dave's genuine interest in their childhood...always sending a gift here or visiting there, Uncle Dave was always there. I will forever have many memories of Dave: from seeing him in St. Thomas for a most-memorable lunch (and unprecedented jewelry shopping spree) to taking pictures with him on the blindingly-sunny beaches of Curacao to sharing a stiff drink (one of many!) with him in Baltimore to laughing easily aboard a cruise ship (politely recommending he un-tuck his Guayabera-style shirt). Dave and I enjoyed many great discussions, where he took such interest in my Coast Guard career and provided sage advice on life in general. I feel so lucky to have known him, albeit for too short of a time. May you rest in peace, Dave...as the tight family you showed us how to be, we pledge to look after your beloved Rosanne.

I have many memories of family time spent with Uncle David. He always showed up for the important moments (holidays, weddings, babies, family trips, etc.). Our recent gathering was to Niagara Falls. We shared a great family trip enjoying the magnificent views and spending time eating and talking. I'll miss him and his giggle.

David was my first cousin--my father's brother's son. Being an only child, growing up with my cousins was especially important. I've known David all my life. We spent summer times in Maine, playing and fishing on the rock-bound coast, climbing on the huge rock in the backyard that was the size of the house itself, and being loved on by our common grandmother, Nana. David was a man of faith and integrity. I give thanks for him today as we commit him to the love and grace of God. Blair Monie, Dallas, Texas
