Dan Macchione, Age 92, of Deptford NJ. Dan was pre-deceased by his wife, Joan, son, Danny, sister. Rose, and brother, Joe. He is survived by his children Jim (Joanne), Maryellen (John), and Jerry (Debbie). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He’s also survived by his brother Ben, his sister, Ruth, and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa and served in the U.S. Navy. Following the Navy and his love of the water, he served in the U.S.Coast Guard auxiliary and spent many hours on boats fishing in Florida and Cape May, NJ.
He also served as a church deacon in the Baptist church and was a Past Master of the Masons. Dan loved working with wood especially building lighthouses. He will be remembered by many for his booming bass voice singing old hymns and “You Are My Sunshine” and also for his hearty laugh.
Due to the COVID-19 crisis a gathering will be held at a future date.
