Daniel “Danny” Adam Deuter, age 56, passed away peacefully with his wife and best friend, Susan, by his side, on Monday, August 8th, 2022.
Danny was born in Camden, NJ on August 22, 1965 and grew up in Bellmawr, NJ and resided in Williamstown, NJ for the past 23 years.
Danny enjoyed sharing the best jokes, a fine wine with a great meal and then celebrating over a nice scotch while listening to some great music. Those who had the good fortune to know Danny enjoyed his ability to hold a conversation at whatever level you would engage him. He had an unmatched sense of humor, quick wit and knew how to apply a healthy dose of sarcasm at precisely the right moment. His counsel was sought by many, and his help was always just a phone request away. Neither was ever denied.
From the time he was old enough to drive he was infected by the car bug. A devoted Chevy enthusiast from the outset, Danny was forever on safari for that next project car to restore to its original glory. In more recent years his love for the hobby transitioned to a fondness and appreciation for those that told a story of their lifetime on the road through their patina and less than perfect outer appearance.
He was truly gifted in his ability to see the potential in any given classic to bring it to life from engine rebuilds to stripping, sanding and painting; all with incredible attention to detail and honoring how they rolled off the production line in their day. It was a consistent theme that ran through his entire life with items…making things better. This pastime was the gateway to so many beloved friendships with other ‘car guys’ over the years that provided much joy and was something he and his wife enjoyed doing together.
Danny’s talents were endless; there was nothing he couldn’t create with his hands. He was fearless. Being an incredibly talented woodworker (a self-taught hobby), he had a passion for gifting family and friends with cutting boards, pens, and bottle stoppers. Danny’s love for woodworking was not limited to creating gifts. He was a rather accomplished finish carpenter and took great pride in the beautification of the home that he and Susan shared.
His most recent passion was creating exquisite bird houses, many of which are based on his love for Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural style. He proudly displayed his Wildlife Federation Plaque awarding him the distinction of a certified wildlife habitat in the backyard attracting varied species of birds. Most of all, he adored the Hummingbird visitors.
Early in his career he worked as an electrician and for the past 30 years was employed in Telecommunications with the last 23 spent as a manager with Verizon.
Danny is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan (nee Tyler), his fur baby, Fanci, parents Mary Lipsett and Ernst Deuter, sister Connie Doto, and brothers Christopher (Pamela) and Ernst (Sharon) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday August 22, 2022 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM, at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Danny’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Camden County Chapter,1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
