Dale R. Haines, on October 3, 2022, of Monroeville, NJ. Age 62. Beloved husband of 37 years to Kimberly (nee Louis). Devoted father of Jaclyn Covely (Wes) and Alex. Loving son and brother to the late Donald, Sr. and Donald, Jr. Survived by his loving mother Ruth and brother David (Dana). He is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Dale was the youngest of 10 grandchildren of the late L.B. “Dick” and Helen Haines. He grew up on the Haines Dairy Farm and worked alongside his two brothers and cousins.
Dale and his brothers loved go-cart racing and at the age of 15 he came in 8th in the nation in the Enduro Division.
He attended Washington Twp. High School, during which time he played soccer and was a wrestler. When Dale was a sophomore, he met Kim, who was to become his future wife. They graduated together, voted “Cutest Couple” by their class. As a senior, he started his business, Haines Landscaping. His first contract was Washington Memorial Hospital, which today is known as Jefferson Washington Township. He was a self-employed landscape contractor for 42 years before retiring the business in 2019.
After retiring from the business, he went to work for Pioneer Pipe. His established long-time friendship with the Covely family was the perfect fit and he found a new home with the Pioneer Pipe crew. Eventually, we all became a real family when Jaclyn married Wes Covely in 2021.
Even though his landscape career was behind him, friends and family continued to seek his advice. His last project was helping his daughter and son-in-law with their new home.
He was an avid golfer. Playing at Pebble Beach in California was a highlight that he often spoke of. Of late, he enjoyed golfing with his son, son-in-law and playing with friends whenever the opportunity arose.
He loved to travel the United States. Some of the most memorable trips he and Kim had taken together were with friends to Yellowstone Park, The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Alaska, Hawaii and New Orleans. He enjoyed taking day trips to the beach. However, traveling with the 5th wheel trailer to Lancaster, Gettysburg, Williamsport, Kerr and Myrtle Beach was a family favorite. He also visited his parents at their campground in Deep Gap, North Carolina. After moving to Monroeville, he enjoyed traveling the country roads on his motorcycle.
Dale dedicated his life to family, work and enjoying good times and laughter with the many friends he had during his lifetime.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Friday, October 14th from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 am.
