Cynthia Louise D’Ortona
(nee King) Age 62, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on May 1, 2025. Beloved wife of Michael D’Ortona. Devoted mother of Steven Kavalchick (Christina), Angelina Grasso (Carli), and Emily D’Ortona. Loving Nana of Miles and Danielle. Cherished daughter of Suzanne (nee Andreas) and the late John W. King. Dear Sister of Carolyn Sammons (Jonathan), John King (Staci), and Diane King.
Cynthia was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Cynthia was a lifelong resident of Williamstown, where she built her home from the ground up to raise her oldest child, Steven. In 1990 she met Michael, the love of her life, & husband of 31 years. Over the next few years they had two daughters, Angelina & Emily, where Cynthia discovered her passion of being an educator. She flourished as a home school teacher – taking field trips, visiting state parks, & many historical museums. When Cynthia wasn’t in the classroom, you could find her crocheting for her loved ones, taking drives with her husband, Michael, throughout the tri-state area, and traveling across the country with her family. Discovering landmarks, finding oddities, and flaunting her photography skills – capturing nature in all its beauty, to cherish the everlasting memories throughout the years.
Cynthia’s love of nature wasn’t limited to scenic routes and landmarks. She worked tirelessly and endlessly to create her own backyard sanctuary, where she gave homes to many native birds & other wildlife. Cynthia was a Master Gardener with the Gloucester County Certified Gardeners, where she happily volunteered over 1,000 hours in her community & was able to share her knowledge & help anyone who was seeking guidance.
Cynthia has always found joy in visiting Cape May from a young age, but truly blossomed when she became a Nana. She enjoyed spending vacations with her family in Cape May Point, taking her grandkids to the light house, teaching them how to spot sea glass & spending warm days on the beach with all her loved ones. Cynthia, whole heartedly, cherished the time she spent with her family, creating memories in her happy place of Cape May.
Let us remember the past with gratitude, Live in the present with enthusiasm, & Look forward to the future with confidence.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Egizi Funeral Home, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 12:00 pm.
